BEHIND THE SCENES

Ryan Morton has over a decade of self-taught and formal education worth of experience with filming, photography, and video editing. While also having obtained from Rowan College at Burlington County (RCBC), an Associates of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree specializing in Entertainment Technologies – Video & Digital Media Production. Which pushed him further into obtaining his Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Radio/Television/Film from Rowan University.

During his education at RCBC, Ryan was given the opportunity to create and edit a commercial advertising and highlighting the school’s programs. He also founded and managed both the colleges and his past high school’s Film Club, which gave him the responsibility of all the filming of each event, and then he edited each project for finalization using Adobe Premiere and Final Cut Pro X. When he learned that upon graduating from high school and local community college he would no longer have the task of managing the organizations he created, he put teams together to create relevant content for the groups in his absence.

During his years of formal education, Ryan also took several photography courses and has taken both stunning and visually appealing pictures of landscapes and nature. However, in recent years, Ryan acted as the director of photography for an independent short film, Accidental Angel, that was to be submitted to the Sundance Film Festival of 2019. More so, he acted as the Sound Engineer for a short film, Backstep, that took place just outside of Philadelphia. This film was to be submitted to local festivals and along with Tribeca and Sundance. More recently, Ryan completed work on a short film titled, Hood $henaniganz Mania, you can find the trailer inside of the portfolio section. During this 3 day shoot, Ryan acted as the Director of Photography. During the times that he spent on each film set, Ryan not only acted as a vital crew member, but he helped teach the director's of each to learn a bit more about the filmmaking and video production process.

With regard to professional experience, Ryan held the role of a Legal Videographer for a trial solutions company based out of New Jersey. While the company was based out of New Jersey, during his time with the company Ryan travelled all over New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and areas of Delaware recording legal testimony to be presented to a judge and jury at a later date. During the recordings, he had to monitor the audio levels being captured through an audio mixer while also maintaining a clear visual of the deponent. Although a vast majority of his time was spent indoors at various locations, there were occasions when Ryan needed to capture footage of areas outside for use in trials. There were also occasions where he would be the individual to present the findings to the judge and jury by means of both projector and Zoom.

For the duration of 2022, he captured and edited footage of basic and advanced vehicle maintenance videos for later posting on YouTube. Operating Sony, GoPro cameras, and Sennheiser microphones to capture any multimedia material, he originally acted as a Video Production Editor. However, within several months, he worked his way up to being promoted to being a Video Production Editor II. Since his time with the company, several company-based internal milestones were hit and are still being hit utilizing content that Ryan has created, which can be found in his portfolio.
